The Good News passes another milestone

By Scott Ashley

ARVADA, Colo.--The Good News, published by the United Church of God, an International Association, passed another major milestone with the printing of the September-October issue. The run for that edition was the first to top 300,000, with a total requested quantity of 302,751.

This run represented an increase of more than 18,000 over the July-August issue and was almost 89,000 more than the September-October issue a year ago. This represents a 6 percent increase over the last issue and a 41 percent increase over last year.

The United Church of God began publishing The Good News in September 1996. After two years the print run topped 100,000 with the July-August 1998 issue. It passed the 200,000 mark just over a year later with the September-October 1999 issue. Now, a year later, it has increased by another 100,000.

Much of the recent growth came from a nationwide advertisement in Reader's Digest and a direct-mail effort to 280,000 U.S. households.
