CGI weekend

The Church of God International will sponsor its Bible Study Weekend at the church property on Lake Palestine near Tyler April 26-28. (Monday, April 28, is observed as the last day of Unleavened Bread.)

The weekend's seminars are free of charge, and visitors are welcome, according to Eric Morris of the CGI's letter-answering department.

"A variety of Bible topics will be discussed," said Mr. Morris.

Speakers will include Garner Ted Armstrong, Charles Groce, Bronson James, Vance Stinson and others.

The CGI has sponsored the weekends at several locations since the church began them in 1990. The last one at Tyler was in 1992.

"We move them around to make it more convenient for different people to attend," he said.

Some 300 to 400 people usually attend.

The meetings will be in the Family Life Center auditorium on the church property off Highway 155 on the north shore of Lake Palestine, south of Tyler. The schedule includes fellowship, snacks and registration Friday evening, April 25.

One-hour seminars

A series of three one-hour seminars begins at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, April 26, interspersed with Sabbath services from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and a potluck lunch from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Other seminars are slated from 3 to 5 p.m., with square dancing in the evening from 7:30 to 9:30.

On Sunday, April 27, six seminars, each about an hour, are scheduled. Lunch, sponsored by the local congregation, will be from noon to 1:30 p.m.

Hymn-singing, beginning at 7, will conclude the day's activities.

On the last Day of Unleavened Bread, Monday, April 28, a seminar from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. will precede services at 11:30 a.m.

For a list of lodging and other information about the Bible Study Weekend, call the Church of God International at (903) 825-2525, or write P.O. Box 2525, Tyler, Texas 75710.

Those planning to attend are encouraged to make their reservations early, Mr. Morris said.
