Mr. McCollum was born Nov. 1, 1940, in Gilmer, Texas. He was retired from the construction business. Survivors include his wife, Jewel, of Kilgore, Texas.; sons, Michael McCollum, Huntsville, Texas, and Brian McCollum, Albuquerque, N.M.; daughters Leigh Ann McCollum, Temple, Texas, and Kimberly McCollum, McKinney, Texas; a stepson, Delbert Tennison, Tennessee Colony, Texas; stepdaughters Alicia Lewis of Longview and Marquesa "Kakie" McCracken, Gilmer; brothers Gene McCollum, Pritchett, Texas, and Lewis McCollum, Bastrop, Texas; two grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
