Born in Warsaw, Ind., Janet was self-employed with Borton's Cleaning Service for nine years and was an active member of the United Church of God. She had two heart surgeries in recent months and died from complications arising after the second operation. Janet was a hard-working, faithful Christian who devoted her life to the local membership.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Borton of Churubusco; sons, Joel Borton of Fort Wayne, Ind., Jeffrey A. Borton of Churubusco, Ind.; a daughter-in-law, Suzanne; a granddaughter, Sophia Borton of Fort Wayne; mother, Helen Welty of Menton, Ind.; sisters, Helene Dunlap of Jacksonville, Fla., Sue Ann Mitzell of Dallas, Texas; and brother, Lyle Welty of Cleveland, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her father, Leslie Welty; and sister, Carol Wolf.
