Journal's Web site redesigned, traffic JUMPS

The Web site of The Journal: News of the Churches of God has experienced a significant increase in traffic after its recent redesign and expansion, reported Alan Ruth of Farmington Hills, Mich.

"Its popularity for the August-to-October period in 2004 shot up an incredible 179 percent above the same period in 2003," said Mr. Ruth, who recently signed on as The Journal's webmaster while continuing to operate BibleStudy.org, one of the largest religion-oriented Web sites anywhere. The Journal's site is attracting more than 14,000 visitors a month.

His own BibleStudy.org in 2004 will draw more than one million visitors viewing 3.2 million site pages.

New content on The Journal's site includes:

  • An updated, comprehensive list of links to Church of God-related Web sites.

  • Pictures of Church of God people, including many unpublished Journal photos, in site's new COG Photo Library

  • Web page offering FREE offers from COG members.

  • A four-part timeline detailing Church of God history from 1830 to 2004.

  • Contact information for Church of God groups.

  • A comprehensive list of foods considered clean and unclean by most Church of God groups.

  • Also, for the first time in its seven-year history, The Journal is offering Web-page-based advertising.
