Wilbur Glenn Shipman, 68, of Big Sandy, Texas, died unexpectedly March 21. A memorial service took place at the Church of God Big Sandy building March 24, with Dave Havir officiating. Mr. Shipman was born July 23, 1933, in French Lick, Ind. He was a self-employed painter who previously worked for Ambassador College. Survivors include his wife of almost 50 years, Martha Jean Shipman; sons Tony Shipman, Gladewater, Texas, Tim Shipman, Pekin, Ind., Terry Shipman, Toby Shipman and Daniel Shipman, all of Big Sandy; daughters Camelia Crane, Borden, Ind., and Kitty Crane, Gladewater; sisters Grace Hawkins, French Lick, and Jean Popa, Alliance, Ohio; and 22 grandchildren. Mrs. Shipman receives mail at Rt. 2, Box 452, Big Sandy, Texas 75755.
