New book just released: The Essential Teachings of Herbert W. Armstrong: His Teachings Focused on the Incredible Human Potential. Did He Solve the Mystery of the Ages? Part I covers his teachings about mankind's true destiny and the Kingdom of God. Part II covers the lost ten tribes of Israel and their importance in biblical prophecy. Ketton, Opal, 80's (grandmother of Paul Shaw of Tyler, Texas), hospitalized with small stroke.

Lynn, tumor in liver, has been told by doctors he only has 4 weeks to live.

McLeod, Risa, Canada, ill for the past eight years with incurable stomach problems and arthritis. Now, she has an enlarged gall bladder and unable to keep food down. Her son, Gregory, on whom she is dependent, needs prayers also.

Obituaries

Deane Anderson, 72, of Spokane, Wash., died peacefully Dec. 30, 2001, of heart failure. We will miss her sweet smile and the good times we had.

Glen Goff of Fort Smith, Ark., died Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2002. The funeral was held at the Roller Funeral Home in Booneville, Ark. Please remember his wife, Bobbie, who suffers from kidney problems and must receive dialysis treatments 3 days a week. Letters and cards may be sent to Bobbie Goff, 5200 S. "U" No. 77, Fort Smith, Ark.

Esther Parrish, a longtime Big Sandy-area resident and widow of Dr. Wilmer Parrish, died in December. Her funeral was held near Longview, Texas.

Beverly Swisher died. She was the wife of Kenneth Swisher, an elder with the Worldwide Church of God in Tyler, Texas. Services were held for Mrs. Swisher Saturday, Jan. 26, in Gladewater, Texas.
