Death Notices

Darrell K. Meeker, 62, St. Joseph, Mo., died January 8, 2014, at Heartland Regional Medical Center. He was born May 24, 1951, to Jack and Phyllis (Landes) Meeker in Kansas City, Mo. He married Kathy C. Adams on Sept. 24, 1978. She survives of the home. Darrell worked at the University of Missouri as a business-and-industry specialist. He loved God and family, giving his children eye-opening experiences including joining the Boy Scouts, singing in a choir and reading.

Additional survivors: children, Erika Berlin (Adam), New York City, Daniel Meeker, Kansas City, and David Meeker, Nevada, Mo.; sisters, Donna Adamowicz (Kevin) and Julie Orahoske; a brother, Tim Kistner (Angela); and his mother. He was preceded in death by his father. A memorial service was at St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Graveside services for Lester Leroy Neff, 90, of Big Sandy, Texas, were Feb. 3, 2014, at Gladewater Memorial Park, near Gladewater, Texas. Mr. Neff was born Nov. 20, 1923, in Medford, Ore., and died Jan. 28, 2014. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps.

Mr. Neff is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Linda Neff of Denver, Colo., and Donald and Josie Neff of San Jose, Calif.; a daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Gary Hegar of Big Sandy; seven grandchildren, Larry Neff, Debbie Neff Magruder, Melissa Neff Lovell, Michael Kusheba, Jeffrey Kusheba, Stephanie Hegar and Justin Neff; and eight great-grandchildren.

Greg Reagan, a longtime Church of God member formerly of Houston, Texas, and recently of Austin, Texas, died Dec. 23, 2013. A memorial service was held in Houston on Jan. 3, 2014.

 
 
 
 
 
Death Notices

Lola Woodbury (née Lading), first married to James Eugene "Gene" Crain, died on Aug. 10, 2013, at age 81 at home in Fruita, Colo., with her husband, daughter, and sister present. Lola was predeceased by her parents, Charley and Verna Lading, her first husband, Gene Crain, and son Jim Crain.

She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Ledru Woodbury. She is also survived by her daughter and grandson, Judy and David Love, three brothers and one sister. Lola had problems with her esophagus for many years and had begun limiting her food intake about five years ago. She was on mostly just liquids the last year of her life. She died peacefully at home, which is what she wanted. She loved living in Colorado and requested no services. She was cremated, and her ashes were scattered in the Colorado National Monument as she requested. Cards may be sent to Mr. Woodbury at 1181 Marigold Ave., Fruita, Colo. 81521, U.S.A.
