Avis Blakely of Missouri hospitalized in Skaggs Hospital in Branson. There is blockage in her aorta, blood sugar, bowel and circulation problems.

Benjamin Hickman, 21, 3089 Lakin Chapel Dr., Bethel, OH 45106, cancer in his spine has paralyzed him from the waist down. He also has tumors in his upper spine that may cause further damage. He is currently undergoing radiation treatments. Please pray for God's intervention.


Lacey Potoshnik, daughter of Scott and Louise Trew, is pregnant with fraternal quads and is hospitalized in Swedish Hospital in Seattle. She will be hospitalized for the duration of her pregnancy. She is 21 weeks along and doctors are hoping she will make it to 30 weeks (about Nov. 1). These are Lacey's first children.

Ken Cass, 77, Chattanooga, Tenn., suffering from a cancerous tumor that has spread to his colon and stomach. Please pray for him and his wife, Roxie, P.O. Box 15, Culberson, NC 28903.

Richard Anthony, 1001 NW Baytree Dr., Grain Valley, MO 64029, diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma on his larynx.

Michael Stoner, son of Debbie Stoner of Palominas, Ariz., is in the military and has had his preapproved Feast leave canceled.

Obituaries

Alma Berry passed away Aug. 25. She is survived by her son Tommy.

Frank Denman of Indiana died Aug. 27 after a short battle with cancer. Please remember his family in your prayers.

James Kale, 62, died peacefully Aug. 22 of complications due to diabetes and kidney failure. He was buried in Mountain View Cemetery in Altadena, Calif.

Joanne Grams suffered a serious accident while helping her husband fell a tree. A limb fell on her, breaking five vertebrae, her leg, collarbone and ribs and also giving her a concussion. The immediate and critical danger is the injury to her chest cavity where the lungs were severely bruised and torn away from the chest cavity. The chest cavity continues to fill with blood and fluid and has to be drained. She is in critical condition. Joanne, a mother of three, is a member of the Toowoomba, Queensland, congregation along with her husband, Elwyn, 68 Platz Rd., Clifton, Qld. 4361, Australia.

Joe Campbell was seriously injured in a bicycle-auto accident. His arm was detached, both lungs punctured, his heart was bruised and he suffered multiple lacerations. He was flown to a trauma center in Maryland, his arm was reattached, and his lungs were inflated. His bruised heart is a concern, but he is in stable condition and is expected to recover.

Bill, of Hot Springs, Ark., is awaiting surgery for a benign tumor on his back that is causing him pain in his leg.

Nancy Waqr, Fort Wayne, Ind., diagnosed with cancer.

Larry Hart, 65, Moberly, Mo., scheduled for carotid artery surgery.


 

Obituaries

Thurlow Mooney, 78, of Kerens, Texas, passed away Aug. 13 in Kerens. Graveside services were held at Richland Cemetery with Pastor Stanley Roberts officiating. Mr. Mooney was born Jan. 27, 1929, in Ferris, Okla. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Shawn Phillips, three brothers and one sister. Survivors include his wife, Jennie Mooney of Kerens; daughter and son-in-law, Donna and A.J. Luzadder of Richland; grandchildren, Bandey Phillips, Allan Luzadder and Jesse Luzadder; daughter, Joyce Rutledge of Quitman; grandchildren, Tonya Raglin, Kristen Rutledge, Dustin Rutledge, Stephanie Rutledge and Stephen Rutledge; daughter and son-in-law, Valerie and Elton Mitchell of Normandy, Tenn.; grandchildren, Carrie Mitchell, Eric Mitchell and Matthew Mitchell; daughter and son-in-law, Laurie Mooney and Archie Beldin of Corsicana; grandchild, Sharlainia Sumra; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Keena Boring Pike, Benton, Tenn., early 40s, heart problems.

Roy Thomson died Aug. 29. Roy and Merron Thomson attended Ambassador College at Big Sandy and Pasadena 1985-1988 as married students, and he also served on the faculty. He is survived by his wife, Merron, and their daughters, Samantha and Karlie, along with his brothers, Stan and Ken, and sisters, Raylene and Joan. Roy's outward demeanor in dealing with a debilitating illness gave inspiration to all who knew of his struggle. He will be remembered and sadly missed. Merron's address is, 5 Fyffe St., Diamond Creek, Vic. 3089, Australia.

Jessie Mae Walker, 91, of White Oak, Texas, died Aug. 1. Mrs. Walker was born March 15, 1916, in Harrellsville, Ky. She was a homemaker and Church of God member. Survivors include sons Donald Ray Walker, White Oak, and Joe Mack Walker, Dawsonville, Ga.; two granddaughters; two great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; nieces; and nephews.

Chuck Weir of Lexington, Mich., passed peacefully on the night of Aug. 27. He was 82 years of age and had suffered from lung cancer. Please pray for his wife, Ginny, and the rest of his family.
