Proprietor of popular Feast eatery dies

LONGVIEW, Texas--A Texan known to thousands who attended Ambassador College and the Feast of Tabernacles in Big Sandy from the '50s until the '90s died Nov. 21.

Johnny Cace, 83-year-old proprietor of Cace's Seafood & Steak House, opened his establishment in 1949. Johnny Cace's became one of East Texas' best-known eating places. Born in 1917 in New Orleans, Mr. Cace was active in the restaurant until his recent hospitalization.

Services were Nov. 25 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Longview.
