Sabbath campers plan for June and August

MADISON, Tenn.--For the fourth consecutive summer, Sabbath Campers Fellowship will sponsor weekend camp-outs in southern Michigan. SCF is a group of Church of God friends who like to celebrate the Sabbath in the outdoors, said Richard Fox, an organizer.

As in years past the main activity will be fellowship, said Mr. Fox.

"There will be a Bible study on the Sabbath, probably in the afternoon. At least one--maybe more--hymn-alongs will certainly take place. Music will be everything from Dwight's greatest hits to traditional hymns to the much-maligned praise and worship. Anyone who wants to be in the band is welcome to bring their instrument of choice and join in."

Most meals at the SCF meet will be potlucks.

"For those of you who would like to spend an entire weekend in fellowship with a widely diverse group of friendly Sabbath-keepers but prefer to avoid the hardships of camping, there is an answer," said Mr. Fox.

"Many folks who join us either rent one of the campers that are available for rent at the campground or stay in a nearby motel."

SCF weekend camps will take place Friday through Sunday, June 18-20, and Friday through Sunday, Aug. 27-29. The location for both camp-outs will be Gateway Park Campground, Hillsdale, Mich., near the Indiana border.

The campground has a meeting hall, swimming beach, playground and swimming pool. Prices per night are $19 for a full hookup, $18 for primitive camping and $2 for a one-day visitor's pass.

To make reservations, contact campground manager Norm Wilcox at (517) 437-7005, or write 4111 W. Hallet, Hillsdale, Mich. 49242. For more information contact Mr. Fox at (800) 228-2473 or rick.fox@nashville.com.
