United plans fifth general conference

MILFORD, Ohio--The United Church of God, an International Association, is firming up plans for its fifth general conference of elders. The 1999 get-together will take place in the Cincinnati area, at Holiday Inn Eastgate, 10 miles south of the home office here.

Each elder will pay for his own food, lodging, transportation and other costs associated with attending the conference, announced Matt Fenchel, a UCG-AIA spokesman, Dec. 25.

Plans include a preconference Sabbath service at the hotel on March 6, with elders' meetings to begin that night and last through Monday, March 8. The "official" portion of the annual meeting will take place Sunday afternoon.

Previous conferences were in Indianapolis, Ind., in April and May 1995 (the founding); Cincinnati in December 1995; Louisville, Ky., in March 1997; and Louisville in March 1998.
