FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich.--Hundreds of people are questioning Alan Ruth.

More specifically, they are sending questions about the Bible to Mr. Ruth's www.biblestudy.org Web site.

Mr. Ruth then turns them over to members of an ad-hoc committee of Church of God members who answer the questions for online posting, which is being read by thousands of Internet visitors.

Here are a few of the top 25 questions as rated by the number of visitors to the Web site who view the answers to them.

In other words, the No. 1 question's answers appear at the top of the list because they were viewed by more people than viewed any of the other answers.

No. 1: Should women wear dresses and not pants? (1,481).

No. 2: Was Jesus black? (1,196).

No. 3: Do animals/pets go to heaven? Are there pets in heaven now? (1,007).

No. 4: What are blasphemy of the Son of Man and of the Holy Spirit? (929).

No. 5: What does the Bible say about using marijuana/pot? (860).

No. 6: Who existed first: Jesus or cavemen? (855).

Other popular answers included replies concerning the two witnesses, the creation of humans other than Adam and Eve, the judging of angels, Jesus' family tree, Judas's suicide, white magic, infant baptism, songs Jesus may have sung, degrees of sin, practices that defile the marriage bed, the best translation of the Bible, wearing a cross, and modern Christianity compared with Christianity in the Middle Ages.
